JSH: What's going on

Over five years ago I DID find a proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. That proof involved the introduction of a new techniques for analysis that I called non-polynomial factorization which showed an error in "core" mathematics, challenging the way that Galois Theory has been used for over a century.

Rather than accept mathematical results that shattered their view of mathematical reality, mathematicians as a group chose to stay with ideas proven to be false, and keep teaching them.

And even when I got a key paper introducing non-polynomial factorization published, the editors caved under pressure, yanked my paper, and the entire math journal later died.

The mathematical establishment had decided to no longer do valid mathematics, so that some people could hold on to their views of themselves and their "accomplishments".

Realizing that the problem was serious, I contemplated the best solutions and realized that if "top" mathematicians no longer cared about what was mathematically true then they could block just about ANY mathematical research simply by ignoring it or just saying it was false, even if they knew it was true.

I needed something that wouldn't depend on their opinion or say-so alone.

And that was the factoring problem.

Now the factoring problem IS solved but to my surprise these people are still playing the same waiting game, as if the tactics that worked before may continue to work now.

So I'm watching them, and talking about the research result and the mathematical proof.

Nations around the world following the lead of the US and Britain need to know these nations are completely at this point out of the realm of sanity.

It is not clear what they will do next, but of course, I do not have to remind that they do have nuclear weapons and powerful militaries.

Some of you may wonder how mathematics can be so important that the fate of civilization now hangs in the balance and we as a species may look back on this time as a golden period before the darkness.

But no technology we have today comes independent of mathematics. Our successes are wrapped up within mathematical truths that have given us the science, the technology, and the civilization.

The corruption of the field was a big enough issue that it has brought the world to the brink.

Sane nations need to go on alert. It is not clear to me what happens next, but I'm looking at people who are not looking at reality, so it's not clear what they will do next.

As near as I can tell RSA encryption is not viable, and there may be widening exploits around the world (consider alternate explanations for the billions recently lost by the "rogue trader" in France).

I am hopeful that intelligence services in Britain and the US will act if necessary, but that is the worst case scenario.

We are running out of time.
