JSH: Same old drill
The way it works with the mathematical community on Usenet is I come up with a mathematical argument and I stress mathematical proof and getting to the real issues and figuring out what's happening.
Some people come back in reply and call me names.
Others assert that I'm stupid, or an idiot, or crazy and that I don't know anything but trivial math.
Some others reply claiming to care about what is true, but always muddying the waters versus actually clearing things up.
And some actually directly lie about details and I can even at times show exactly where they lie but the group as a whole just ignores them.
THAT is the modern mathematical community on Usenet.
